Introducing the Great out of the Gates (tm) Project
When we're not rolling up our sleeves to help our clients companies, or run our own, we tackle projects that are near and dear to our hearts - namely that of entrepreneurship.
One of the projects our acceleration group team is working on is a study to determine, or otherwise shed some new light upon what traits, disciplines and other "secrets" can help companies grow dramatically fast and grow right from the get go.
The concept came about by our founder, michael beirne, and it occurred to him about 2 years ago, when one of our clients sat down at his desk, saw the perennial classic good-to-great by Jim Collins on his desk - and said... "I'm just waiting for jim to come up with a book called, from so-so to good!"
The idea quickly evolved from that of figuring out how "good to great" principles can be applied to young startups methodcally. Great out of the gates has become a more thorough and comprehensive study, and actually an ongoing analysis, of how rapid growth companies can be built on sound, lasting principles that support rapid (Think Inc 500) growth. This growth should be dramatic, sustained, and reliable - even in companies that are built to flip, that are intended to become lifestyle or family businesses, have a planned "end-of-life" from the get-go, or are otherwise involved in rapid wealth creation but that have typically been "under-studied" by entrepreneurial artists, and business scientists...
The book project is underway, and we're in the process now of assembling resarch data on these small, young companies that become great, experience rapid, sustained growth, and that have a lasting impact, even if acquired, or shift into a cash cow position.
We are expecting to have our blog launched just for this project within the quarter, and we'll launch it at:
